What to Expect When Your Pet is Admitted for Hospitalization
These guidelines apply when your pet is being admitted for hospitalization at CARE. Depending on the service caring for your pet there may be some variation, but in general, these guidelines apply.

We know leaving your pet is a stressful and anxious time. Below is some information that will
help you navigate this journey.
Admissions Guide
- Please add our number to your contacts – 704-457-2300
- Patient care is our top priority and the doctor will reach out to you with an update and recommended treatment plan. We appreciate your patience as they work through their caseload.
- If you miss a call from us, the doctor may leave a very detailed voicemail with their findings and next steps.
- Your pet will be in ICU where technicians monitor them very closely and ensure their comfort.
- Our skilled technicians are available to provide general nursing updates so feel free to call us.
- Scheduled visits will be offered while your pet is in our care. These are arranged to optimize your time and not disrupt your pets’ treatments.
- We are unable to accept any outside medication while your pet is hospitalized.
- If your pet has any food allergies or can only eat certain prescription diets, please let us know. We have a variety of prescription foods available.
