Rachel Grossman, DVM, MBA

From an early age, Dr. Rachel Grossman’s interest and love for animals was inspired by her father’s work as a professor of ecology and fisheries. She had many fascinating animal experiences growing up and an equal number of interesting pets (snakes, mice, frogs, birds, salamanders, and turtles). Initially obtaining a bachelor’s degree in avian biology, her passion of caring for animals led her to complete a degree in veterinary medicine. During that period, she also found time to complete a master’s degree in business administration.

Following her veterinary degree, she worked as an associate veterinarian in emergency and general medicine and completed two small animal internships, including one at CARE in the surgical service. As an emergency veterinarian, Dr. Grossman enjoys the variety of animal care conditions that urgent situations bring. She is passionate about building mutual trust and understanding with pet owners while providing appropriate explanations on the treatment plan for their pet.

When Dr. Grossman is away from work she enjoys traveling, hiking, kayaking, swimming, cooking/baking, reading a good book and spending time with family and friends.
