Andrew Tessitore, DVM

Andrew Tessitore earned his bachelor’s degree in biology from William Paterson University in Wayne, New Jersey and his doctorate in veterinary medicine from Ross School of Veterinary Medicine in St. Kitts, West Indies. As a student, Dr. Tessitore worked as a veterinary assistant and as a veterinary technician in New Jersey. He continued working as a vet tech through veterinary school. After receiving his doctorate, he became an associate veterinarian in both clinical and emergency care.

While he was working at his first full veterinary post, Dr. Tessitore began to develop an interest in and passion for surgery. This led him to an internship in surgery in a veterinary specialty clinic in Miami, Florida before joining CARE.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor of Science, Biology, Paterson University
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine

SPECIAL INTERESTS:

Has worked with all types of animals, including exotics, but he pursued both critical care and surgery simultaneously because he is drawn to both. Though his focus is surgery, he continues to develop his skills in critical care as well.

PETS

Because of moving internationally and putting in long hours as a surgery intern, Dr. Tessitore does not currently have any pets, but he grew up with mastiffs, cats and turtles and is very much looking forward to acquiring some animal family members soon.
