
Adel Benedek, DVM
Dr. Benedek became a veterinarian because she is passionate about caring for and saving animals. She received her doctorate from the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University, where she received the ACVS Student Surgery Award for Excellence in Large Animal Surgery. After a large animal surgical internship, she worked as a general practitioner for 8 years in private practice, treating mostly dogs and cats along with some exotic animals.
In 2017, Dr. Benedek began practicing emergency veterinary medicine while continuing to work full time in general practice. By 2022, she had transitioned to predominantly emergency care.
She enjoys traveling, sailing, scuba-diving and being home with her pets.

SPECIAL INTERESTS:
- Assisted with research on silk scaffolds on bone formation at Tufts
- Investigated the role of dioxygenases in phenanthrene degradation
PETS
Dr. Benedek has two rescues from Puerto Rico named Handsome Devil and Ceiba as well as two Cane Corso mixes named Prometheus and Hades.
