Residency Trained in Small Animal Internal Medicine
Dr. Skyler Hensarling is originally from Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Her journey to veterinary medicine began in college when she worked as a zookeeper and educator at a local zoo. This experience led her to pursue zoo medicine, even traveling to South Africa, where she gained valuable experience in conservation. However, during her fourth year of veterinary school, Dr. Hensarling shifted her focus to small animal internal medicine, drawn by the intricate problem-solving and the opportunity to build long-term relationships with her patients and their families.
Dr. Hensarling appreciates a collaborative approach in veterinary care, emphasizing clear communication and client education. She believes that understanding the reasons behind treatment decisions is crucial for making the best long-term choices for each patient. Recently relocated to Charlotte, Dr. Hensarling is eager to continue working in the Southeast, a region that feels like home.
